Appreciating

Question:

How can I help someone feel appreciated because of how I benefit from what he or she did?

Definition:

Appreciating someone encourages a valued performance. Being genuinely appreciated feels wonderful and rewards effective performance. It costs nothing and takes little time. The person appreciating someone else expresses how he or she personally benefited from what someone did. Appreciating is distinct from praise, in that praise complements the person, rather than focusing on how the appreciator responded to and benefited from the person being appreciated.
